Fishing & Boating

Fun at Smuggler's Villa Resort
Good friends, good fishing
Incredible boating opportunities and outstanding fishing and crabbing are the norm at Smuggler's Villa Resort. To say that our location is fortunate is to understate the obvious. All of the San Juan Island archipelago is a marine wonderland of whales, eagles, herons, seals, otters, salmon, clams, crabs, ducks, terns, gulls, and, and, and! It 's an ever changing synthesis of shoreline, saltwater and sunsets.

Smuggler's has the best protected moorage in the area and just steps from your home away from home. You'll enjoy our new ramp and 385 x 6 ft. concrete float. There is a nominal charge for guest moorage/ramp use.

This is a great base for salmon and bottom fishing. Smuggler's location on the north shore of Orcas Island makes possible immediate access to productive local fishing. Of course Washington State regulations apply.

Whether by kayak, canoe, sailboat, powerboat, or rowboat you'll have the closest possible access to Sucia Island Marine State Park. It's only 2 miles to this magical place of incomparable natural beauty. Patos and Matia Islands are just beyond Sucia Island with unique opportunities to explore and experience unspoiled settings. A few miles more is Barnes and Clark Islands, favorites for saltwater campers.
